Service Safety Director

The Safety Service Director (SSD) is committed to ensuring quality City Services and providing a safe and pleasing environment for the community by focusing on high ethical standards, efficiency and effectiveness, civility, teamwork, and pursuit of excellence.

The Safety Service Director is appointed by the Mayor. The SSD functions to preserve and improve the quality of City Services and Safety by effectively managing operations of City departments including Building, Cemetery, Code Enforcement, Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Fire, Human Resources, IT/Telecom, Municipal Gas, Police, Sanitation, Storm Water, Transit, Transportation, Utilities Collection, Water, and Water Pollution Control.

Effective May 7th, 2024, all Oversize Overweight (OSOW) and Right-Of-Way Permits can be obtained by contacting LDOT at 740-687-6668 and asking for Tim Deitz or Charlie Mullett or by visiting the Transportation Page.
